Advent

The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ which occurred over two thousand years ago has caused Christians worldwide to celebrate the season of Advent. Advent begins on the Sunday nearest November 30, and includes the four Sundays before Christmas. In this season, the church joyfully remembers that Christ has come in the flesh, continues to come in the word and sacraments, and will come again in power and great glory. The color for the season is purple or royal blue. This is a time when we remember that the Lord of Glory came to earth as a baby, grew up into manhood and eventually died on the cross for the sins of humanity. His coming to earth is a gift to people everywhere. Jesus came to earth that we might have a close relationship with God and that we would learn how to truly love one another. Let’s make this advent season about love and caring for other people. As we show love to others in tangible ways, we embrace the true meaning of Advent and the Christmas season.

Much love to you always, Pastor David
