Words of Life: Do Right – June 5th 2020

Do Right

We as believers in Jesus Christ, have a choice each day in doing something good or doing something bad. In God eyes there is no gray. For example, when a friend asks you a question about a sensitive area in your life, there is no such thing as a believer in Christ, by answering with a partial truthful answer. You must either answer truthfully or not. Sometimes the enemy of our souls tries to get us to compromise what the Holy Spirit is telling us to do. In the face of this temptation, let me encourage you, to do right, and honor God with good choices. We are in a major upheaval in America right now over what happened to George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breanna Taylor. How do we as believers respond to the events in a just way. We serve a God that is just in all his ways and calls us to walk out being just people. As an example, we can do right by having dialogue with our neighbors about these shootings and calling for justice when wrongs are done in our society. Being silent and ignoring matters of injustice is not doing the right thing. We as Christians, have a good opportunity to lead the way in being light and salt in this time in America.

May God bless us to continue to do right in his name.
