“Close to the Heart of God”

In Isaiah 40:11, the prophet declares, “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart.” This chapter describes the awesome power of God. He is Almighty, and Isaiah says, “Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens.” This great God keeps us close to his heart. In this chapter, God is described as being our shepherd who cares for us. He stays close to us and protects us. Later on in the chapter, it says that if we hope and wait on the Lord, He will renew our strength and we will soar on wings like the eagles. This is an amazing picture of our God, who truly loves us. He is strengthening us to do his will, and to be his representatives of love and peace. Don’t get tired of doing the right thing. Keep following our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep being faithful in serving him and other people and remain close to the heart of God.
