Words of Life for this week are:“The Effect of the Wordâ€
In Psalms 19, it says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soulâ€. God’s word and his commands are really good for us. It helps us to make informed decisions. It gives us wisdom. It makes us successful in our earthly activities. God’s word and the obedience to it, sends many blessings our way. There were times in my life when I felt like it was hard work to obey God’s word. But as a young man, I saw the benefits and blessings of allowing the word of God to have a positive effect on my life. While attending school at the University of Washington, many of my friends would get drunk on Friday and Saturday nights at parties. They also were very free and uninhibited in their intimate physical relationships. I was tempted at parties to get drunk and I was tempted in my relationships, but I remembered what God’s word said about sexual purity, and I remembered the council that my father and brothers in the faith, gave me. It did me well, because I was able to finish school in four years with a degree and I was a light for God to lead many people to the Lord. God’s word will lead you in the peaks and valleys of life, and in the end, you will hear him say to you, “Well Done, my good and faithful servantâ€.
